God, the author of the biggest holocaust
« on: October 28, 2020, 04:17:00 PM »
The 'holocaust of the children', as Greg Paul puts it, dwarfs any human caused holocaust by a wide margin. All of the mass slaughters of the 20th century combined pale by comparison.

Here are the numbers:

Up to this point, there have been over 100 billion people ever born.

At least half of them have died, and continue to die, before they make it out of childhood. Most estimates say the figure might have been as high as 75% dead children before the advent of agriculture.

That is 50 billion dead children.

Over half of that number have died of natural disease.

So, this god created a universe with at least 100 billion galaxies, each with at least 100 billion stars, with an untold number of planets orbiting these stars (4000 extrasolar planets found thus far in our galactic neighborhood alone) only to create one that is a literally a child killer, and put children on it.

"But, but... The Fall of man!" I hear you exclaim. Sorry, but that does not let god off the hook. Being omniscient, he would have known the Earth was going to be a child killer, yet he let it happen anyway,

"But, but... free will!" I hear you exclaim. Really? What age do children understand the concept of free will? What free will did the 20 billion children have that have died of malaria?

This doesn't even take into consideration, those who do not survive the reproductive system.

Over 50% of all fertilized eggs never make it. They don't implant into the uterus, or they are naturally aborted after implant.

In the US alone, there are 4 million births a year out of about 8 million conceptions. There are about 1.3 million induced abortions a year, that leaves 2.7 million 'god' induced abortions a year. Figuring that prenatal care is pretty good and infant mortality is fairly low in the US, who knows how many 'god' induced abortions are occurring in the rest of the world, where this isn't the case.

So, a god put us on a world that seems designed to slaughter children by the billions, and this same god created the human reproduction  system designed to abort at least half of all conceptions.

Please explain again how this god is moral?
And if there were a God, I think it very unlikely that He would have such an uneasy vanity as to be offended by those who doubt His existence - Russell

G-d creates all things, all life.  And destroys all things, all life.  You don't like it?  Then storm heaven with Robespierre.  G-d is not a republican nor a democrat nor is limited to such human-like tendencies.  Think Cthulhu.  Real monotheism means there is no Satan, unless G-d is Satan (aka The Adversary).  Jews and Muslims are more clear on this point than Christians.

And atheists are even more clear than that, on the matter.

But hey Simon, loved your rant. Though you are, so to speak, of course preaching to the choir :p

Or...

Since there is drastically insufficient evidence for the existence of any gods, nor is the existence of a god supported by valid and sound logic, everything I mentioned in the OP is all due to purely natural causes.

Atheism doesn't have a choir, ex-Christians do ;-)

Did you know that Pharaoh Akhenaten was the first illuminati?

Did you know that Father Abraham (in extra biblical sources) was the first atheist?

Liberalism comes from a historical Egyptian New Kingdom royal heresy.  Skepticism comes from a Semitic folk tale of iconoclasm.  Both Bronze Age.

There is nothing new under the Sun (aka Aten).  The microcosm and macrocosm both depend on G-d incarnate, Pharaoh or Trump.

Both people were sociopathic to their contemporaries, but were they?  To doubt that there were many gods, or to doubt that a god could inhabit an image or statue ... was crazy, man!

The first nation, not confederacy, was Egypt under the Pharaohs.  Almost all Pharaohs were neo-Cons, but Akhenaten was nearly the only neo-Lib.  The other one was Hatshepsut, the feminist Pharaoh ;-) ... who came even before Akhenaten.

A PM or President or King or Queen of more recent times, is a direct ideological descendent of Pharaoh.  This is made very clear in Thomas Hobbes' Leviathan (1600s book about absolute monarchy in England).

In the more conservative and usual Egyptian view, there are no impersonal causes, gods of various capabilities are required.  Particularly Ma'at, the goddess of truth and justice.  We still feature her in different garb, blinded, with the scales of the Egyptian Last Judgement, in front of many American courthouses.  In partisan politics, the blind is off, justice is partial to one side or other.

For millennia now, Ma'at has been gone, and chaos has reigned, not order.

All hail Pharaoh Katy Perry!  The royal court of Egypt was the "greatest show on Earth" ... the Pharaohs of old would approve of this music video ;-)

It is all part of having the most 'kick-ass' god. If you want new converts and believers your god can't be a wimp..no.. it has to be more powerful than the previous ones. That's explains the migration to monotheism. A big bad ass mofucker. Still scares the shit out of so many sheeple to this day.

However people were accustomed to an entertaining cast of deity characters so monotheist religion had to come up with a cast of angels, demons, prophets, saints, spirits and family members, victims, and villainized fools to keep the bullshit stories compelling.

Wimp gods were never popular, except where soybeans were first cultivated ;-)

Religion and politics weren't separate, and in most places are still not separate.  The Pharaoh was the primary Egyptian god.  The Romans worshipped the "genius" of the Emperor.  Not "Marcus" down at the corner shop who sold sour wine ;-))

Why was the Pharaoh shown carrying a stone headed mace, even in pre-dynastic times?  Because he would teach you a lesson by bashing in your head.  So fear is reasonable, just ask Black men in the process of doing something illegal in the US.
