75 dead in Nice in apparent terrorist attack

Someone has driven a tractor trailer through a crowd of people during the Bastille Day celebration. It is being reported that police killed the driver and found firearms and explosives in the cab. They are treating it as a terrorist attack.

If this was in the US there'd be a huge outcry to ban trucks, or trucks with high capacity cargo areas.

The driver of the truck that killed at least 80 people in Nice on Thursday evening was a 31-year-old resident born in Tunisia, according to French newspaper Nice Matin.

The scary-creepy thing is NO terrorist group has claimed the attack yet. There is nothing in the news. Why? Death toll reached to 84.

Hollande calls up reservists
French President Francois Hollande has vowed to strengthen his country's role in the fight against the Islamic State group in Iraq and Syria after a deadly attack on Nice, which has not been claimed by any group.

"Nothing will make us yield in our will to fight terrorism. We will further strengthen our actions in Iraq and in Syria. We will continue striking those who attack us on our own soil," he said, in reference to the Islamic State group.

He also said he had called on reservists to boost the ranks of police and gendarmes. France's "operational reservists" include French citizens with or without military experience as well as former soldiers. Mr Hollande said they would in particular be used to boost "border controls".

This is weird. According to the police the attacker is a 31 year old french man with Tunisia origin with petty crime record known to the police, but not on the radical watch.
