The most beautiful equation is… Einstein's field equation

So much for Euler's identity, huh?

Einstein's field equation is probably more useful, anyway.

It always amazes me how useful math can be in learning about the cosmos, though there is still a lot of pure math for which no use has been found.

Perhaps in the far future it will be discovered that all pure math can be applied to some physical process.

My vote is on Euler's Equation.  The presence/lack of the Cosmological Constant ... makes the Einstein Equation indeterminate.  No such slouching with Euler ;-)

Euler identity is just that, a definition, it does not describe anything in the real world, while the Einstein equation describes the cosmos... ;-)

Oh yeah...stunningly georgous! I bet there must be thousands of lonely poor bastards rotting away in prisons, no female companionship for the past 30 years just masterbating daily to Einstein's field equation. I know that I surely would be if I were on death row..

The shit that math nerds actually believe.. Unbelievable really..lol
All hail my new signature!

It takes all kinds.  Math geniuses are useful, when you need to engage in stock/bond fraud.

IDK..I kind of prefer the flour sack towels they sell at Wallyworld. They're soft, durable and great for deep cleaning the kitchen. They seem to beat a math equation for everyday use and overall appearance..

No, teh most buetayfull equasion in teh werld is:

Father + Sun + Holey Goast = GAWD!!

... except it's actually more like 20 equations, amirite? :d030:

20 simultaneous components of the Riemann curvature tensor, but only 10 of them are independent.  So really just 10 independent equations, but they are describing 10 aspects of just one thing, the metric tensor, which tells you how distance is scaled differently in different directions (in 4-d space-time).  If space-time was uniform, there wouldn't be anything to study.

It's one equation until you have to write FORTRAN code for it. Then it becomes this hairy piece of shit that's a pain to document, like I had to do one summer for my friendly neighborhood GR department. Next time, you can document your own code, fellas!
