I've broken my leave of absence to report this. God the mother, or Korean mother of God. I first came across it while browsing the "Let's not meet" Subreddit.

Here is the page: https://www.reddit.com/r/LetsNotMeet/comments/3t6y4d/my_best_friend_turned_out_to_be_a_cult_recruiter/

Also known as the World Mission of God.

Do not think of this as an actual denomination of even Christianity, it is a cult. It actively recruits young college aged females (despite how many guys it shows it always targets women) or single moms. It "love bombs" the people that it is trying to recruit. This means they show a lot of affection and niceties to someone who is more likely than most to have a severe lack of friends, i.e shows itself as the perfect group if you want to be religious, have friends, or most important to me: have somewhere to belong.

Being of College age I can say that many people go through identity crises around my age, they dont' know where they belong and they don't know what they should do with their life. That's why so many turn to being religious: it gives them brotherhood and acceptance supposedly. We all know how that song and dance goes.

This cult worries me more than the average one because it is highly aggressive with its recruiting tactics, it has a comprehensive love and fear mongering program that can easily manipulate people into doing as they want, their bidding if you will. It's brainwashing people and can make even standoffish people with the right words into an eager recruiter.

If you keep an eye out and see these people report it to everyone you know, its already banned in some part of Europe. IT is a cult. Not even a religion.

Asia is a hot bed of new religious cults for the past 100 years.  Unification Church by Rev Moon is the most famous one in the West.  The cults in Korea are a little more aboriginal than the ones in Japan.  Korea is much closer to shamanism, and shamanism there is not patriarchal.  Soka Gakkai is one of the new Japanese movements, though it is associated with a much older nativist movement ... Nichiren Shu.  I tried out Soka Gakkai for a few weeks back in the 80s.  My daughter tried out Risshō Kōsei Kai for a few weeks earlier this decade.  Risshō Kōsei Kai itself is a spin off of another 20th century Japanese cult.
