Come on guys, there is no limit what can be done. Just sex and fight?! :sad2:

... ... ... Driving fast cars?

No seriously, the educational capacities of decent VR would be phenomenal.
You could take an actual trip through the human body.
You could perform surgery as training.
You could learn welding, carpenting, whatever... without risk of harming yourself.
You could learn to drive, learn to fly with helicopters or planes, learn to drive a train.
I could go on.

Naah, everyone here would love to see themes like what I wrote up there. I think it is just too new to think about what to expect.

Exactly what Mr. Obvious said the educational value is priceless and not just education for kids or students. Just building a vritual reality of let's say... somewhere/some-when in Middle Ages or Ancient Egypt, Aztec would help a lot in reconstruting those ages in real historical inquiry. That might sound weird, but it is not trust me. Although we have piles of information and knowledge, we don't a about lot of things. It would help a lot in connecting all those knowledge.

All that knowledge, education, progress...etc and it would be awesome, crazy fun!

E: Yeah definitely the only car I am driving... :ppp

The internet also has a great capacity for learning, but the first online transaction in history was a cannabis sale and the websites with the highest traffic are still the ones with porn. (Even YouTube has camgirls who stop just short of anything that would get them banned.)

The one guarantee with any new technology is that the first question men will ask is, "Can I have sex with it?"
Speak when you have something to say, not when you have to say something.

Well, to be honest, I've never done drugs (apart from booze), and I don't care to use it IRL either. However, a VR-cannabis experience is something I would  concider. Interesting point as it might make recreational drugs like pot and booze obsolete. Let's say you could hook up a lifelike-VR of one of the living rooms of your friends and share that VR, rather than actually all going there you could chill in that VR-spot with virtual booze or a virtual joint that gives you the samel experience. But no risk of driving home under influence and no real harm to your body.

This thread made me miss Alien for some reason. Finished 3 and I just started to 4.

If you think cell phones make people less sociable, wait until VR comes along. Societal behavior will become unknown. Those that have VR will become addicted to it and those who do not have it will take over those who do without them even knowing it. Alas, the death of civilization as we know it.

The only reason anyone really wants VR is to fuck anime characters. Until that becomes possible, it will never be mainstream.
You obviously are not as up to date with porn as you should be.

Search "VR Porn". You will be pleased. It's only a matter of time 'til people make vr hentai, if they haven't already.

Well then!  It sounds like a step in the right direction.

Yep.  VR tourism (both real-world and fictional locations) would be pretty cool, too.

Considering the level of reality in the auto racing games now on the market, a vr version of something like Grand Theft Auto would be mind boggling. I think anything to do with sex at first would be just weird. It would take some getting used to.

CloneKai

doesn't feel like real VR, unless sensations are included  :sad2:
anyone has any idea about something opposite of BCI (brain computer interface). You know where computer can directly put information into your head. like feeling touch or something like that.

The N64 roms can be played in 3D. I'm looking forward to Banjo Kazooie and Rocket Robot.

It's a good thing that 50% of the human population is female. Guys can ruin everything...

And so can women.  But I did fantacize about Kim Possible.  Once.  Maybe twice.
