Here in the US we have state fairs ... but we aren't expected to show up on the same days, it extends for a couple of weeks.  The pilgrimages to Jerusalem (ideally 3 per year) used to be huge ... no wonder the Romans were frightened.  On Buddhist or Christian pilgrimages ... it was whenever you got there.  Hinduism has vast pilgrimages every decade or so.

Ebionites, Persians-gasp! You mean Islam wasn't created from whole cloth by Muhammad? I'm shocked.

Gee, so- the idea wasn't original with the named originator. Like every other religion.

Yeah, it's like re-inventing the wheel. Lots of plagiarism. However, you have to give credit where credit is due. Though he might have taken his ideas from different sources, Mohammed was a prolific writer and a warrior of immense talent - a combination of skills rare in most humans.

George Washington only founded a country.  Muhammad in a time when religion and state had to go together, founded not only a country, but a religion for it as well.

If there would be a comparison it would be Mohammed and Napoleon - both were great warriors; Mohammed's legacy is a religion; Napoleon's the Napoleonic code in law.

Interesting ... yes, the law is a common trait.  Except that Muhammad militarily won in the end, and Napoleon didn't  Muhammad had much weaker enemies (both Byzantium and Persia were weak in his time).  George Washington militarily won because of French allies.

King George III was mad. American colonialists took advantage. Bunch of opportunists.
