Is it possible to "really believe" without being clinically insane?

I think an absolute belief in an invisible sky god for which there is no evidence of a persuasive nature compels a sort of wilful delusion.

Human beings function by .... high functional delusion.  Not unlike a ... high functional autist.  Our connection to whatever reality may be, is more tenuous than people care to acknowledge.  The changes to the DSM are ... controversial.  But then is psychiatry even a science?
