The same camp isn't going to defend the "religious freedom" of Muslim doctors to refuse to treat female patients, so this is why they have no credibility. If they'd at least be consistent they'd have that much credibility:

Back in the Middle Ages, even then doctors knew that it was unwise to be near sick people.  That was how nursing was invented ... the doctor had his medical book out, then had his assistant (usually a man) go over to the sick person and follow the instructions that the doctor was giving ;-)

Since Semites still believe that women have cooties ... of course they don't want to go anywhere near a woman patient ... that and the Muslim husband might kill him for touching his wife ;-))  Or at least have your assistant do it for you, since another assistant isn't hard to find.

That is her objection. She is only sworn to uphold the state constitution. And the state constitution of the state of Kentucky makes it illegal for gays to marry.

State's Rights is an actual problem, not just a theoretical debate.  A practical problem in any federal governmental system.  Only as long as we can all get along.

  The US constitution takes precedence over state laws.  Once the decision was made that same sex couples had the right to marry, any laws in the US that contradict that are automatically null and void. Just like those states which have laws which prevent atheists from taking office, the laws are still there, but the SCOTUS ruling Torcaso v. Watkins renders them void.

Her objection is meaningless and without merit.
