What has been happening here in BC is troubling.

In June the average high temperature was a full 4C (almost 8F) higher then average, and there seem to be some consequences. We went about 2 months without rain, and various wildfires have been burning non stop for months; for a few days everything was shrouded in a smoky haze, sunlight was muted, and mornings took on an otherworldly orange shade. Nothing like that has ever happened around here before.

After a few days of that it looked almost like autumn in early July, as in some places many of the leaves fell from the trees. I`m not sure what kind of impact this has had on the local plant and wildlife.

It would seem that in this part of the world, western US and Canada, the climate is becoming dramatically warm and arid. This has been going on for years now in California. (From August, western US):



It almost literally appears to be a desertification.
