I can't believe I'm about to play the Devil's advocate and profess the idea that Josh Duggar might not be a complete slimeball, but when I first heard this story, I honestly didn't believe it. I still don't know if I do. It just feel "too perfect." The fact that it's a paid account looks pretty damning, but I don't know. I guess I just want to believe that no one could be so obviously hypocritical and stupid. It really does feel too obvious.

My first thought too made me think of something someone I knew once threatened to do as a joke. In the Army, I had this platoon sergeant who was a real dick, and one of my battle buddies wanted to sign him up for some sick goat porn websites using his professional military email. I'm assuming he never made good on the threat, but it's a scary thought, you know? I would imagine it would be tough to prove you didn't author an account years after the fact.

I just think it's easy to want to believe the worst about a homophobic bigot, and hell, maybe he really is that stupid and really did do it. I dunno.
How can you be sure my refusal to agree with your claim a symptom of my ignorance and not yours?

I'd say having a paid account indicates at best the intent to cheat, but then I think that sort of cheating matters least. He molested five underaged girls, 4 which were his own sisters! Now the true motivation for having so many children comes to light. He had his own Haremfull thing going.

I have no reaction to this revelation. After careful self-analysis I realize the reason I have no reaction is because these people mean nothing to me.

Meh from what I've read the overwhelming majority of Ashley Madison subscribers were men and most of the female accounts were suspected to be fake.  Based on that, I'd say the only think Josh Duggar is likely guilty of in this case is being horny and unconscionably stupid.

Also FWIW, i've been happily married for over 10 years, but I setup a Farmers Only account a few years ago. I didn't and wouldn't pay for it but my morbid curiosity wanted to see how many of the ads on the site looked fake (most of them).

I never went to the Ashley Madison site, but knowing what I know about men and they things we're capable of when we're horny, it would not shock me if that site was structured so that only paid members could see ads. That's the way I'd build it if I owned a site like that. Which again makes me think the most likely thing Josh was guilty of was being unbelievably stupid.

I tried the place but the scam is that in order to get to the front of the listings, you have pay the premium, and I wasn't going to do that. So I gave it a month but when your listed 526480 it may be hard to get attention.

If it proves true, can't say I'm surprised.  There's a special flavor of hypocrisy practiced by these aggressively holier than thou types.
