I like how they refer to this live action remake as an "updated take," as if the original is somehow outdated.
Can't comment, never saw the original. Disney movies are obsessed with singing.
We 'new atheists' have a reputation for being militant, but make no mistake  we didn't start this war. If you want to place blame put it on the the religious zealots who have been poisoning the minds of the  young for a long long time."

Sal1981

Bohemian Rhapsody - 9/10

The movie follows Freddie Mercury from right before he joined and formed Queen up until the Live Aid concert. Pretty good acting and a bunch of Queen songs, naturally.

The MCU is supernatural.
That's open to interpretation.  Sure, gods like Odin and Thor exist, but they're actually just powerful aliens.  Even Doctor Strange's magic could ultimately be rooted in a previously unknown form of physics.

It's interesting that atheist characters like Tony Stark have seen a lot of seemingly miraculous stuff and haven't changed their minds.

Of course it is, it's also sci-fi

Revelations Jesus as the real Thanos?  Works for me.  Why call modern fantasy sci-fi, when it is in fact nothing of the kind.  Jules Verne was sci-fi because it was more or less realistic.  Living giant robots are not realistic, but fantastic.  Machines aren't alive, aren't conscious.  The Bible is just old fantasy (not sci-fi).

Pagan gods were just that, powerful aliens.  Same thing with Hinduism and Buddhism.  The Abrahamic god is not the only definition, just the most extreme one.

Dr Strange's cape is rooted in physics?  Smoke some more dope.

Didn't imply otherwise. Strange, isn't it.

There is singing, but the songs in Aladdin are really good. If for no other reason, though, you should watch it for Robin Williams' performance. They pretty much put a mic in front of him and let him do his own thing. He's hilarious. The third movie is also pretty good, but the second is garbage.

Is Tony an atheist? He certainly seems the logical type who'd doubt religion, but has he said he was an atheist? Maybe he's just atheistic toward the idea of a creator god, while accepting the existence of godlike creatures.

I can watch all kinds of RW. The show he did where they left him stage with a box of props is my favorite. But he won't make up for the fucking singing.

Medieval stained glass windows ... early comic book.  But actually you can also find them in Egyptian papyrus.
