I kind of lost interest. 7-way debates are... kind of hard to follow.
This whole thread is hard to follow.
Plus, I find it strange that these labels are commonly portrayed as if they were discrete things when in reality, they're simply part of a trait taken to (what someone considers) an excessive degree. Lust is excessive desire. Greed is excessive pursuit of wealth. Gluttony is excessive eating. I suppose, but excessive as defined and demarcated how? I'm sure we can all point to extreme examples, but what about the borderline ones? It seems strange that this stuff is treated as a binary rather than a spectrum, and weirder still that it's treated as a question of morality - of rightness and wrongness - rather than simply desirable and undesirable outcomes.
