Having grown up in farm country and having been set upon by tom turkeys and roosters, It isn't much of a stretch to think of dinosaurs as having feathers.

Having chickens now and understanding the vicious, relentless eating of anything and everything (live or dead) they do, it's certainly not a stretch to think they descended from dinosaurs.
