Not exactly surprise of the century, but according to a Pew poll released yesterday, 57% of Republicans would support making Christianity the national religion, with 30% against it and 13% unsure.

Other inexcusable ignorance revealed by the poll: 49% of Republicans do not believe in evolution (37% do and 13% unsure), and 66% do not believe in global warming (25% do and 10% unsure).

They also believe in Noah's Ark, that Earth is 6,000 years old, and that Tinky Winky is gay.  The perfect group to run our government!

I expect biblical laws would be much worse than Sharia, given that I've read the Bible. Here's  a resource on that:

That is terrifying. How is that any different than Sharia? Are people seriously that fucking stupid?
