Why is it a minimum of 3 dollars to sign a petition?

Edit: Never mind. I got an email saying that I signed the petition. The donation was extra to put down for the cause.

Nearly every political ad now has a donation link.. It's automatic. You're not required to pay a dime, but if you pitch in a few cool million I'm sure a politicians would be glad to send you a thank you letter sent via bulk mail rate..
