Hello there!
« on: July 30, 2014, 01:45:22 PM »
Hi, my name is Greg and i'm an aethiest.  I've been god-free for about 10 years now.  Although it was only 5 years ago that I fully admitted it to myself.  Not much to tell. I'm a database specialist and an accountant.  It doesn't get much more boring than that.  But I do have a wife and 2 teenage sons that keep things interesting.  My parents and brothers are all Christians and they pray for my soul on a daily basis.  I guess they mean well, but it gets old constantly having to defend my beliefs or lack there-of.  My wife is still struggling with the whole god thing.  She really doesn't believe, she's just caught in that mental web of indoctrinization that won't let her fully break free.  My kids are on their own, I don't force my position on them.  I just give them the reasons for my beliefs and tell them to research and learn on their own.  If they need help I point them in the right direction or give them my opinion or try to answer their questions as best I can.  Right now I'd say they are fence sitting agnostics.  Actually, if they do come home spewing religious nonsense one day I'll kick their asses to the curb!  Just kidding. Maybe not.

Well, if they ever start taxing "thingy" you job will get more interesting.

We 'new atheists' have a reputation for being militant, but make no mistake  we didn't start this war. If you want to place blame put it on the the religious zealots who have been poisoning the minds of the  young for a long long time."
