Reminds me of Dampe. Was he in Ocarina of Time or Majora's Mask? I can't remember. But he was this old grave keeper you had to lead around to plots of land in a dark room. He followed the light from your fairy, and moved a painfully sluggish pace, and would get lost if you moved two feet away from him. You could Z-target him to keep the fairy around him, but then you couldn't see where you were going. They knew exactly what they were doing with that side quest. lol

Morrowind was the game that made me HATE escort quests with a passion.

It was especially brutal because whoever you're escorting could get one-shot, certain enemies were extremely aggressive, pathfinding was a nightmare for NPCs, and it was extremely easy to get lost so you could easily lead them into deathtraps.
