Sorry, I honestly don't know why I didn't post aqicn. I guess I figured that because it's on the first page of Google when you search for "China air quality" that everybody knew it. I know, it's irrational and dumb, but that's the impression that I get from overuse of technology.

This was never about the air quality in China.

I don't know if that is supposed to be an insult, but if it's addressed to me, it's a waste of time.  I no longer affiliate myself with any party.

I do.

I'm a member of the Birthday Party.

It kind of is, I mean if anything's a lab-perfect example of communism vs capitalism,  it's China.

Why would anyone ever do that?

Look at aqicn, a service that provides real-time tracking of air pollution in China. Compare Shenzhen and Zhuhai, both Special Economic Zones, to Beijing or Nanjing. Or Zhenjiang. Etc etc etc. Like 5% of large cities in China are cleaner than the SEZ's, and almost none of them have anywhere near the heavy industry per capita that the SEZ's do. From moment to moment, the pm2.5 might be lower in Beijing than in Zhuhai, but the 2-day aggregate is almost always much higher.

Are you really that stupid? Have you ever been to China? Do you even know where these places you talk about are? Or what really causes the difference in the air quality? I'll tell you one thing, it has nothing to do with being a Special Economic Zone.

Okay, so what causes the difference in air quality? Because if Norilsk is any indication, state-run Communist-era industry is the worst thing that could possibly afflict our planet.

edit: Oh, right, they're coastal. nvm.

Also, liking socialism because you hate capitalism is kind of weird, because socialism is basically corporatism but without free market pressures to keep large corporations in line.
