I was browsing through posters for the new movie, "God is Not Dead," and this one in particular caught my eye.

Speak when you have something to say, not when you have to say something.

If God is dead, or not,---would it change anything? Over six thousands years of recorded history and today show it wouldn't be any different.      He! He! Because I'm still alive. Satan
There is nothing more frightful than ignorance in action.

It's pretty crazy that ridicule is right up there with torture and death.  Persecution complex, much?

It's pretty much default mode for many Evangelicals.

"No more proselytizing in public schools? Next they'll be killing us in the streets."
"And, tricked by our own early dream
And need of solace, we grew self-deceived,
Our making soon our maker did we deem,
And what we had imagined we believed."

"I am a (fill in the blank)"  and the poster pretty much describes most people.

I can't find the exact quote now, but Mark Twain in his book What is Man wrote something like, "A man searches for truth and once he thinks he found it, will defend that particular truth to his death."  Not right I know.  But, describes how I see most people acting.  Which explains why what religion you are depends mostly on where you were born.  The same can be said for those with strong political affiliations.  Born into a Republican family, they tend to stay Republican.  Democrats same thing.

Pretty much my reaction too.
... To teach superstitions as truths is the most terrible thing. The child mind accepts and believes them, and only through great pain and perhaps tragedy can they be in after years relieved of them. - Hypatia

It takes courage and the integrity of honesty to one's self to seek truth by questioning authority before you accept it.........

Imagine allowing one to abuse and torture you in order for you to stay righteous to the end and enter the kingdom of eternal worship................ugh!

A church service that after 3 trillion years hasn't even begun to start...........and eternal consciousness never stopping...........

Eternal bliss???.............well here's a story.

A gambler and womanizer dies and his soul wakes up in a casino where he is gambling.................the first game he hits and collects........he's happy and tries again, hits again and is loving it...........this continues while beautiful women gather around.

On and on it goes.........he's wining every time he plays............every beautiful woman in the place is throwing themselves at him.

After some time goes by it continues. He never loses, never at gambling or with the babes......

Then he become bored......what is the value in the joy of a win if there is not contrast of loss, frustration or sorrow to validate that feeling?

He looks at the dealer in the casino as says.............how in the world did I get into this heavenly state of gambling and womanizing anyway after I lived such a selfish ungodly life?

The dealer looked at him and said................."Who said this was heaven?"
