Judge Key may have an honorable desire to leave the republicans, but San Antonio is becoming more and more Liberal and Democratic. The winds of political change are slowly blowing in Texas and San Antonio/Austin are at the forefront of that change. I believe you will see many politicians in Texas renounce the republican party and depending on where they are, they will become conservative Democrats or extremist tea party members.
