After his murder trial, I was willing to accept his innocence.  The jury decided there wasn't enough evidence to convict him, and that was that.  Justice is infallible.  Yay OJ!  Juries can make mistakes of course, and now I'm starting to consider that this man has always been devoted to a life of crime.

It's political.  Cookie Company is awarded a contract to supply all government subsidized prisons.  Cookies are also a part of the rehabilitation process.  It makes the prisoners easier to manage.  If one starts misbehaving, they give him a cookie and he forgets what he was upset about.
