The presidential election ended almost nine months ago, but Mitt Romney re-emerged Tuesday to continue his fight against President Barack Obama's policies and assert himself as a Republican Party elder at a time when the party is struggling to find its path forward.

QuoteThe party is struggling to find its path forward and another Republican makes Rush an honorary Texan. You think that is moving forward? I guess it would for any republican. Good luck in the next presidential election with that one. Solitary

That's alike an argument about who should be giving the orders - on the Titanic.

Seniors Leaving The GOP And It's About Time
 By John Amata
—In 2010, seniors voted for Republicans by a 21 point margin (38 percent to 59 percent). Among seniors likely to vote in 2014, the Republican candidate leads by just 5 points (41 percent to 46 percent.)

—When Republicans took control of the House of Representatives at the beginning of 2011, 43 percent of seniors gave the Republican Party a favorable rating. Last month, just 28 percent of seniors rated the GOP favorably. This is not an equal-opportunity rejection of parties or government — over the same period, the Democratic Party's favorable rating among seniors has increased 3 points, from 37 percent favorable to 40 percent favorable.

—When the Republican congress took office in early 2011, 45 percent of seniors approved of their job performance. That number has dropped to just 22 percent — with 71 percent disapproving.

And.....
Poll: Hispanics lean toward Democratic Party
http://www.upi.com/Top_News/US/2013/08/ ... 376082214/

PRINCETON, N.J., Aug. 9 (UPI) -- Hispanics in the United States are more likely to identify with the Democratic Party than the Republican Party, a Gallup poll found.

The poll, which was conducted between June 13 and July 5, found that 64 percent of U.S.-born Hispanic people and 57 percent of Hispanic immigrants are identify as Democrats or Democratic-leaning, Gallup reported.

--------
And what with the gender gap, near total lack of black voter support, the youth vote and more, looks like a dismal 2016 election for  the GOP.

They want to get all of the dickheads in one place.
The Christian church, in its attitude toward science, shows the mind of a more or less enlightened man of the Thirteenth Century. It no longer believes that the earth is flat, but it is still convinced that prayer can cure after medicine fails.

I guess this pre-boomer senior was a bit (like half a century) ahead of the curve.  I never left the GOP because I never agreed with enough of their platforms to join them.
