Spitzer:

Quote48 percent of registered Democratic voters said they'd vote for the former New York governor, giving Spitzer a 15 percent lead over Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer.

A Marist poll last week had Spitzer at 42 percent, and Stringer at 33 percent.

Weiner:

Quote25 percent of Democratic voters said they'd vote for Weiner, giving him a slim, three-point lead over City Council Speaker Christine Quinn. The lead falls within the margin of error.

Earlier in June, Weiner emerged as the frontrunner among candidates vying for the Democratic nomination.

Despite their individual scandals, Monday's stats appear to show New Yorkers willing to grant both Spitzer and Weiner second chances.

Good to see NYC'ers voting with their heads and not based on sexual scandals that was none of their damned business in the first place (arguable in Spitzer's case though).

The polls were for the primaries.  It didn't ask Democrats whether they'd vote for Bloomberg.  As an ex-New Yorker who lived there under Spitzer, I wouldn't vote for him for mayor.  God would do a better job for less money.  (God would do nothing, which would be better than what Spitzer did for the state.)

BTW, if you look at the breakdowns, you'll see that the higher-educated and wealthier voters prefer Quinn to Weiner.
