I don't think this will make to the news anywhere in EU or US. I was worried about it, but apparently it went on OK. This is the historical street opening to Taksim Square. This is the 11th one. Of course this year the crowd was bigger because TaksimGezi protestors joined in with their natural allies. LGBT groups were also in the big anti-government protest needlessly to say. Go LGBT!
