Fake personas wrote foreign policy opinion pieces, mostly in conservative-leaning news outlets

QuoteTwitter said Monday it has suspended 16 accounts discovered to be part of a network of fake personas spreading propaganda about Middle East countries.

QuoteThe accounts are among a network of at least 19 accounts belonging to fictitious people that spent the past year planting more than 90 opinion pieces in 46 different publications

QuoteThe articles generally praised the United Arab Emirates while pressing for a tougher stance on Qatar, Turkey on Iran, according to The Daily Beast.
I'm pretty sure they meant Qatar, Turkey, or Iran.  That's what the Daily Beast's article says.

QuoteThe opinion pieces ran in conservative publications such as the Washington Examiner, RealClear Markets, American Thinker and The National Interest, the Daily Beast's probe found.

Getting fooled and unwittingly helping fool others is bad enough, but many of these sites still have these fake editorials up, apparently on the grounds that even though whatever shadowy individual or organization submitted it lied about the authorship, the text itself sounds totes legit.  (In which case, why not take down the fake editorial and replace it with one penned by a real person?)

QuoteWashington Examiner deleted its article written by “Badani,” replacing it with an editor’s note: “This op-ed has been removed after an investigation into its provenance and authorship.” Spiked, a British libertarian site, added a note atop both its articles by a fake persona, saying the outlet “takes seriously any claim of questionable authorship,” but left the text up in the interest of “transparency.”

Human Events, meanwhile, also affixed an editor’s note atop their article written by a fake persona, but outright defended its publication, writing: “We have reviewed the substance of this piece, and have not found any factual errorsâ€"and we still agree with the thesis of the piece. As such, we are keeping the piece up, and adopting its arguments as a publication.”
A word to the wise when reading any of these publications, beware the opinion sections.

Yes, those crazy camel drivers don't agree with each other.  Rivalry plus Sunni vs Shia.  They will stop at nothing to F each other over.  Just ask The Prophet.

On J K Rowling, "The TERFs are starting to realize that the feminist claim that there's no difference between men and women is the most misogynistic claim ever made." ... women aren't men, trans men/women aren't biological women/men.  Feminism is self canceling, like the actress playing Hermione Granger.

These people work with regular salaries. We have tons of them. They're called a lot of names here. Do you remember Twitter closing up accounts in Russia and Turkey...etc.? Just a little example. Not even the tip of the iceberg.

The problem is in certain countries people don't think or aware that they are in abundance. So this has also been going on domestic issues in every country. It changes according to the culture.

Somewhere as big as the States where there is countless news piles every day, where people make money from conspiracy theories, youtube channels of any kind... this is very hard to follow. (It's different around the world.)

If you do this about the Middle Eastern countries in the States people would easily get aware of it because it is 'against' the culture. They would suspect and research.

But if you do the same thing in a subtle, style with domestic issues in the States leaning on to the right policies bit by bit everyone would buy it...may be by just adding a personal grey tone. It becomes the reality.

Isn't this the sum of the last two decades?

He's been dead for 80 years, but his ideas live on in an amalgamate of other ideas that are in my head, but I guess deontological driven theists are exempt.

Trots (as they are called in England) are "wet" Marxists.  They are Beta males that end with a pick ax in their forehead, courtesy of real Marxists like Stalin.

The irony is that only a weak persona, i.e. tankies, would feel the need use a pickaxe for their perceived enemies.

Stalin personally signed every execution order.  A hard working dictator is what we need.
