Misleading views on Scandinavia ...

GB was relatively socialist in the 70s/80s ... until turned around by PM Thatcher.

The Scandinavian countries were relatively socialist in the 80s/90s ... but they have become more capitalist since then.

The idea that you get free medical, free food/drink, free government services, free housing etc ... isn't true.  It wasn't true in the Soviet Union either.

I'm tired of the misapprehension people have of Scandinavias economic model. It's basically a mixed model of capitalism and a regulated market. A farcry from Socialism.

Correct.  It is possible that other countries run a mixed economy better than the US.  But people who advocate utopia, make a false analogy of some real place that they have never lived in, or only have propaganda on (pro-socialist political diatribe in Scandinavian politics).  Or they go completely off the reservation ...

Free food, free drink, free clothing, free housing, free medical care, free education, free transportation etc ... which has never happened anywhere.  But it would be true, everywhere, except for White males being assholes.  This POV, not even socialism, is infantile.  This is the state of the megalomaniac infant who thinks that its mother exists to not only take care of its needs, but should read those wants out of its inarticulate babbling and cries, and meet them immediately.

So is infantilism the greatest threat to civilization today?  Not even adult infantilism (as a sex neurosis).  This isn't how we celebrate Mother's Day ... don't expect your mom to change your diaper.

Well, Sal, a lot of my fellow Americans are quite dumb and they love to give things simple labels so they don't have to think too hard about them but can still pretend to know everything there is to know.

Sadly, serious thinking is too hard for a lot of people who simply want someone to feed them slogans about how great they are.
The Christian church, in its attitude toward science, shows the mind of a more or less enlightened man of the Thirteenth Century. It no longer believes that the earth is flat, but it is still convinced that prayer can cure after medicine fails.

Don't like slogans that are embarrassing?  Then put out more NewSpeak.  I found your post, double-plus-un-good!  Doesn't show the Muslim no-go zones ;-)  That isn't the way Sweden was, when my old on-line friend, Vietnam vet, migrated to Sweden in the 70s.  Don't try to turn America into a Sweden that doesn't exist anymore.

How about .... humans are self destructive, nature destructive shits.  Does that fit reality?  Don't care if they are Nazi shits or Stalinist shits.  Shit is shit.

This is the political spectrum ...

Left - self hating shits, who hate their own country, their own culture aka self-destructive psychopaths aka Stalin
Right - other hating shits, who hate any other country, any other culture aka mutually destructive psychopaths aka Hitler

The real question, are there any humans that don't deserve extermination (to virtue signal Earth First ideology here)?

Choose the German pill or the Russian pill.  But choose wisely.  Double down by putting kraut in your borsch ...

My currently "best system of government" is a carefully regulated capitalist one.  Legitimate business with honest products as defined by a government geared towards making sure products are both safe and useful.

Call it "The Consumer Reports" model if you want.

Correct again ;-)

But that isn't what the 70 year old bitter hippies want.

The old bitter hippies died out long ago.  Well, OK, there is Sanders but Vermonters are naturally bitter...
