Last December, international trade took a nosedive, and still is heading to the bottom ... same pattern as 2009.  This is because of the trade war, the excesses of buying votes thru socialism (both in US, EU and China), the cyclical nature of a credit driven expansion that is long in the tooth, and the political uncertainty in China, US and Europe.

I got out of most of the stock market last year expecting that Trump would REALLY screw up the domestic and world economy.  The market is more resilient than I thought, but I haven't lost any ground.  I'm still betting it gets worse before it gets better...

I moved nearly all my stocks to money market accounts last year about this time, expecting that Trump would ruin everything.  So far, I'm 3% ahead.  I'm sleeping well.
