This is not her neighborhood anymore. She lives in a luxury apartment in DC.

Yes, it is a problem for the unemployed in a poor NY district who could have had a job.
And no, not my problem.
As someone that is from a nearby neighborhood of where AOC represents and is FROM, holy shit you are just flat out incorrect.

Do your homework before you open your dumb as fuck mouth for once in your sorry excuse for a life

She couldn't even afford to move there until she started getting her congressional salary. AOC has also pledged to pay all her interns a living wage. Amazon does not pay a living wage, yet Bezos somehow became the richest man in the world.

The entire area has tons of jobs, Amazon not needed. If anything, their presence would work against such people by driving rent into the stratosphere.

Plus, amazon might have made some more jobs, but they would not do anything positive for the community.

Amazon would be leeching off of the current infrastructure. They wouldnt be putting money in to the subway system, which they would be flooding with underpaid workers. They wouldnt be contributing at all. It would be more of a bad thing than anything. Literally the only semi good thing is that there would be some people employed.... but even then, not really.... because just like walmart, they would be under-paid and over worked, and also it would be killing the surrounding economy and small businesses.

Some of the subway lines in NYC are so flooded already that maintenance that is EXTREMELY needed takes YEARS to complete. There are some areas that I've never seen not under construction and have had "alternate paths and scheduling" for the entirety of the time that I've been going in to the city, which is over 10 years. Still these lines are under construction. With more people cluttering the subway, this would be even worse and take longer and make it harder for any work to be done.

Amazon not coming to NYC was one of the best things to happen in my immediate area in the last year. And that is saying a lot because some pretty good things happen in NYC

Well, I pretty sure of this one...

I agree.  I really agree with the idea of "you didn't build this company alone".  Every business that claims "We did this ourselves" is failing to consider that PUBLIC TAX DOLLARS educated their workers, built the roads their products travel on, created the internet, provides some health care to their workers, etc.

And rather more importantly, makes up for the low wages major companies pay with public support systems ranging from housing subsidies to food assistance to day care and tax reverses.

And I'm getting damned tired of my taxes making up for the unfair low wages that many companies pay (depending on taxpayers to make up the difference between starvation and merely hard lives.

$15 is just a start.  Henry Ford paid his workers enough so that they could actually have a good dwelling and buy one of the company cars and he made a fortune.  It is time for modern companies to adopt that principal.

ANYONE who works 40 hours a week should be paid enough to have a decent home, functional car, and food.  Beyond that, we can argue...

Are you seriously that paranoid? Is it really that inconceivable to you that someone from a working class background would despise a political system designed to fuck the working class?

She is upper middle class.  Her daddy is well off.  She wanted to work, not that there is anything wrong with that.  But why not the clamor for Chelsea Clinton to run for office?

Working class? That's why she nuked 25000 possible jobs in NY? Really?

She didn't do that on her own.  The NYC unions did most of that.  Hymie-town y'know.  Back in the day, 80 years ago, most NYC Jews voted socialist.

Correct observations.  The point for Amazon etc is the local tax dodge.

Correct, but NYC, Washington DC etc are more expensive.  Where I live, it is nothing like that, relatively cheap housing etc.  Walmart is criminal you know, I think more of their full time employees get welfare, than any other corporation.

It isn't her. It is her handlers in the background. She is just "reading" the script given to her.

Who?  All opposition is controlled.  AOC is controlled by the CIA.  Same people who control both D and R parties.  And the FBI.  It is part of their job (from their POV) to control everything, both in the US and outside the US.  Question is, how many other leaders (than Trump) are also CIA controlled?  Merkel perhaps?

Of course the ideology is simply updated Marxism.  But she is tame compared to the Labor party in the UK.  And I can bet you that both Tory and Labor are controlled by MI6.
