If you haven't seen the Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay reveal... just stop what you are doing now, and go do that. It's like... Bioware (good-era) choices and RPG elements (think Mass Effect/KotOR/Dragon Age era)... with some Bioshock Infinite/Witcher 3 level world building and writing, elements of GTA 5 open-world involved but with absolutely insane attention to detail... all set in a cyberpunk universe very reminiscent to me of the Judge Dredd world but with the cybernetics of Neuromancer and some of the classic books and of course some hints of Bladerunner.

It's just... oh god. It's so good.

There is one line in this reaction video, which really is probably only worth watching if you are nerdgasming over this as much as I am, that I just find so interesting...

"That's how young cyberpunk is as a genre... it's just fantastically young as a sci-fi genre. The guy who basically invented it (in text form) is on Twitter saying, "Yeah. You got it.".

...and yeah, it's interesting that what seems to me perhaps the most realistic vision of the future yet, and certainly the most realistic vision in sci-fi of what society is today, is such a young genre. Yes, William Gibson is certainly getting up there in age, but he is still "young" enough to understand how to use Twitter or even to be alive and using twitter, or that they consult Mike Pondsmith who truly invented the genre with his boardgame. To hear him endorsing the vision that CD Projekt Red has for the game and that they are getting his opinions on it... everything about this game screams, "Being done right".

That doesn't mean it will be a masterpiece, it may be a total flop, but they are at least all the right steps... it's one of the few gaming companies today that operates on a solid budget but still respects it's consumers and doesn't do shit like microtranscations (and focuses exclusively on single-player games), they are fans of the source material(s), they are getting input from the source creators, they are taking years and years and years to develop the game instead of rushing it(it's likely not going to be out for at least another 2-3 years), the PR has been amazing...

Hype train is 2077/100.

Shiranu, I'm with you on this one!  Really, looks good!  Ready for it right now!

Still trying to beat Civ V.  Pieces won't move where I guide them.  I assume that is my fault.  I'm missing something in this game.

I agree 100%.  But until it's released and the devs make good on the hype, I'm just going to stay cautiously optimistic.

I've gotten swept up in the hype and gotten burned before.

Apparently, Telltale Games is shutting down and the last installment of their Walking Dead series, ironically named The Final Season, will never be completely finished.

And I just replayed Season 2 and I'm currently partway through New Frontier.  :(

Clarification:  part of The Final Season will be released - the first two episodes out of a planned four episodes.  So literally half the game is going to be made.  Feels bad, man.

I have.  I liked it.  Michonne racks up quite the kill count.  I was defiant and unapologetically brutal towards villains but restrained in dealing with innocents, which I think is within her character.  My final choice was
to let Norma get eaten by walkers rather than mercy kill her.
But I like the themes of Lee/Clem's story better.  Redemption.  Learning how to survive.  Surviving without losing yourself.  Hope against all odds.

EEEEEEEEEEE!! This looks soooo good! Loved the original streets of rage series, can't wait to see how this one fairs.

(edit: removed the other video cause that was a fan made game, not what this up coming one will be apparently)

Update:  it's slated to be finished by Skybound games.  Clem's story won't be getting cut short after all!

Watch out for the subject of upcoming popular video games.  You are what you play ... GTA tribe.

Totally true, after playing 4 different GTA games, I can't hold my urge back to steal cars and gun down strangers with a minigun.
