Hell. I'd be surprised if he isn't re-elected. Republicans will all vote for him over the "evil atheist socialist Democrat," of course, but it'll be up to the people in the center to decide, and the incumbent always has the advantage. Considering they honestly believed that Trump was somehow a better choice than Hillary, I don't have much faith in their judgement.

Democrats, with amazing powers of prediction ... Hillary has 99% odds of winning last week of October, right?

Nobody knows, but you can get an ulcer over the next 3 years worrying about it.

I suspect that even the late-night comedians who are getting so many laughs out of the Trump phenom will get tired of making jokes about him and try to find something else to focus on. Their viewers will get so tired of him they'll stop watching just to avoid having to think about him.

The comics are cucks, who all voted for Hitlery.

Except they didn't believe he was a better choice.

The Mango Mussolini lost the popular vote by nearly three million votes -- it was the Electoral College, which was designed by the Founding Fathers to prevent a dangerous demagogue from taking the Presidency, that installed him over the plurality choice.

Trump has gone over the edge.  When he says he is building the Wall, has build the Wall, Will build the Wall, and Mexico HAS funded it, Will fund it, and that The Democrats have funded it, you have to know he has completely lost it.

He is at the point of Nixon talking the Presidential portraits on the walls of the White House in the dead of night...

I had a co-worker once who kept telling us of all the wonderful things her husband was doing around the world.  Well, great.

But one night the security guards found her wandering around the building talking to him.  And he wasn't there.  It turned out that he had divorced her a decade before (and she really was a nut case) and she had been living in La-La Land ever since).

Trump is mostly like that now.

Well, feel sorry for that woman.  Dementia thru yeast infection?  Nixon had tape worms ;-)

So-called "moderate" Republicans are as extinct a species as "moderate" Muslims.

It really is quite sad watching the US become undone as a superpower from inside out.

And indeed the history of that change of Moderate (and even Liberal) Republicans has a history.  I was a liberal Republican in my youth (1964).  Goldwater disliked us, but it took Nixon and his "Southern Strategy" to really drive us away.  When Nixon charmed the Democratic racist "Dixiecrats" to follow him with his "Law and Order" campaign, we northern liberal Republicans gave up and moved to the newly freed-of-racists Democratic party.

I've never left...

But to be clear, I didn't leave the Republican party; THEY left ME!  They simply became Southern racist Democrats under a new name and then captured the racism of many people in the West.  And the other thing that changed was that the Republicans used to be supporting good government; now they want to kill it (Grover Glenn Norquist - "Drown it in a bathtub") .  I believe governance is a good thing.

If the recent governmental shutdown didn't prove that idea wrong, nothing ever will...

Best way to fail, is thru self-corruption ;-)  Much better than being eaten alive from without.  At least with self-corruption, you think you are enjoying yourself (eat, drink and party, for tomorrow ....).  Collective nervous breakdown (predicted by "structuralism" in philosophy).  Happened in the 60s, happening now.  Takes a Churchill to slap the body politic awake.  Remember 1965?  When we were all supposed to become pot-smoking Viet Cong?  That was when the external threat was quite real.  Took 10 years to pull out of that "crash dive".  Then we were depressed, until Reagan/Lebanon.  Didn't fully recover until Desert Storm under Reagan VP.  Meanwhile the other party wanted to go Zimbabwe.

The social organism has its own moods, its own grand mal seizure.

Recent government shutdown was unfortunate, but isn't over yet.  Not until Yeltsin uses the Army to storm the Duma.
