They do it every time.  Having blown a Titanic-sized hole in the federal budget with their asinine tax cut to reward their corporate whore backers they will now become "deficit hawks" again as the dems take control of congress.  How stupid are the 'Murrican people?  Stupid enough to fall for it again I predict.

There is nothing dumber than an asswipe wearing one of those stupid fucking hats.

Do Rs lie about budgets?  Of course.  They don't have to pay for it, they know you will ;-)  Of course where is the D party balanced budget?

It's spending that they lie about.  Constantly.

Every one of the useless sacks of shit.

Yeah.  You'd think the Army was doing bake sales so they don't have to furlough marines while elite scientists sip champagne in Paris, France (thanks Sarah, but I know where Paris is), climate scientists (whose work is 100% fictional according to Patriots4Trump dot com, so they must not be working very hard) are positively drowning in grant money, NASA gets paid ASTRONOMICAL sums, and foreign aid is like 10% of the budget.  And you know those damn foreigners are bleeding America dry with their entitlements.

I guess this is Obama's fault?

And Soros.  Gotta include him for some reason.

But of course, it's all the demoncrats' fault!  Tax cuts pay for themselves and we gotta support the troops, but putting more money into education and healthcare is just plain wasteful!

Nope, Obama/Trump same mother fuckers by different fathers.

Fucking the US is bipartisan.  But partisans are blind to that.  Gold Daleks vs Silver Daleks.  Who will win?

And yes, Soros and the rest of the Elite are part of the problem, not part of the solution.  Unfortunately there is no solution.  Soylent Green is people.

Doesn't even count quantitative easing in 2008-2009 ... so basically bait and switch.  That is a 14 trillion error.  And were is that 21 trillion accounting error for DoD in those charts?  And what about long term liability aka SS, Medicare, military retirement etc.  Accounting is the best way to plausibly lie, just ask Arthur Anderson and Enron.

Anyone ever heard of Jude Wanniski and his "two Santa Claus theory"?

QuoteDemocrats, he said, had been able to be "Santa Clauses" by giving people things from the largesse of the federal government. Republicans could do that, too â€" spending could actually increase. Plus, Republicans could be double Santa Clauses by cutting people's taxes! For working people it would only be a small token â€" a few hundred dollars a year on average â€" but would be heavily marketed. And for the rich it would amount to hundreds of billions of dollars in tax cuts. The rich, in turn, would use that money to import or build more stuff to market, thus increasing supply and stimulating the economy. And that growth in the economy would mean that the people still paying taxes would pay more because they were earning more.

There was no way, Wanniski said, that the Democrats could ever win again. They'd have to be anti-Santas by raising taxes, or anti-Santas by cutting spending. Either one would lose them elections.

They still think this works, but we'll soon see that the GOP hasn't got a leg to stand on.

From the article:

QuoteIn 1974 he invented a new phrase â€" "supply side economics" â€" and suggested that the reason economies grew wasn't because people had money and wanted to buy things with it but, instead, because things were available for sale, thus tantalizing people to part with their money. The more things there were, the faster the economy would grow.
Now, I'm not an economist, but I'm pretty sure that bolded part is the exact reason economies grow/exist.

Yeah, if people have no money they can't buy anything, no matter how much stuff there might be to buy.

Meh, they'd probably fritter it away on education and healthcare.  It's way better to give people who are already filthy rich more money, that way they'll create votes uh...I mean jobs...at ummm...PACking plants.  And you know, donate to worthy *cough* campaign *coughcough* causes.

More generally, since industrialization ... there are too many products chasing too few people who can afford them.  Do you need 24 big screen flat TVs?

This was pointed out by Karl Marx in Das Kapital.  Though Marx had specific ideas as to how Capitalism would try to widget this.  For Marx, there would be more and more people displaced into unemployment (army of the unemployed) by automation (this has partly happened with youth unemployment in W Europe).  For reality, credit was extended to consumers to make the post WW II consumer society.  Before WW II, you couldn't get a loan or mortgage for love nor money.  And regular folks didn't even have checking accounts.

Compare to the vast variety and quantity of credit available now, to people who are or are not, viable creditors.  With consumer credit, you are hawking your future income, assuming you have one.  This is done in a big way by mortgages, car loans and college loans.  When the government over-spends, they are hawking future tax revenue, which you will pay.  Corporations pass all taxes and costs onto employees and customers.  The government has no income other than you.  So you put yourself into hock, and the government puts you into hock.  How many times can you spend future income now?
