QuoteAllegations of voting irregularities in and around Bladen County swirled on Thursday, with the North Carolina Democratic Party calling for an official hearing and a flurry of affidavits surfacing involving absentee ballots.

The allegations are apparently behind this week’s decision by the State Board of Elections and Ethics Reform to not certify the results of the congressional race in the 9th District.

The decision came after board member Joshua Malcolm of Robeson County cited what he called “unfortunate activities” in that part of the district. The board voted 9-0 not to certify the 9th District results.

Republican Mark Harris beat Democrat Dan McCready by 905 votes. He carried Bladen County by 1,557 votes.
...

Wallace went on to say a review of public records “confirms that serious irregularities and improprieties may have occurred.” Bladen County had the highest percentage of absentee ballot requests in the state. There, 7.5 percent of registered voters requested absentee ballots. In most counties it was less than 3 percent.

An analysis by Catawba College political scientist Michael Bitzer suggested more aberrations.

In seven of the eight counties in the 9th District, for example, McCready won a lopsided majority of the mailed-in absentee ballots. But not in Bladen County. There, Republican Mark Harris won 61 percent even though registered Republicans accounted for only 19 percent of the county’s accepted absentee ballots.

This pastor, through rigging the election, is now potentially going to be voting on legislation that affects all Americans.

Let's take a look at his policies...

Abortion? Ban it.
Department of Education? Abolish it.
Social Security? Too expensive, cut it.
LGBT rights? Fuck that.
Islam and Judaism? Greatest threat to America and if Muslims and Jews don't convert to Christianity there can never be peace.

Funny that there did actually seem to be alot of election shenanigans this year... and it just so happens that it was the people screaming about how the elections are rigged that benefited from it. How many Democrats won in elections that are being called rigged? Now how many Republicans did...

Accuse everyone else of doing what you yourself do. If I had a dollar for every time the right did this, I would make Bill Gates look like a broke chump.

Republicans have a really hard time of winning elections without cheating, but they're always accusing the Democratic party of doing the cheating. You can always tell what the GOP is doing by seeing what they accuse their opponents of doing.

That's the GOP/Trumpian logic.  Accuse others of what you do first and their accusations seem lesser.  It becomes he said/he said in the minds of people who can't think clearly.

The idea that the Ds are now Rs, and he Rs are now Ds (with appropriate virtue labeling) ... is wrong.  Once a traitor party, always a traitor party, since 1861.

You guys keep talking about republicans cheating, as if their the only political party to do so.
But it seems so moot at this point, the republicans won, their in power now.

Maybe focus instead on finding a better candidate for next election to ensure your get your chosen side in?

Voter fraud is important no matter which political party is doing it. I tend to be skeptical of charges of voter fraud but in this case there seems to be significant evidence of wrongdoing. North Carolina has other political problems, particularly gerrymandering.

D party Progressives, since maybe 2008, thought they had manifest destiny on their side.  Everyone, naturally, and given the increasingly brown demographic, will vote for the D party (if elections are fair).  If that doesn't happen, then voter fraud and Putin must be responsible.  Progressives are false messianic movements (utopias and soon) ... and fit the underlying narrative of Marxism, exactly.

The Democrats don't collect absentee ballots and then just throw them away. Do they?

I don't know how close you follow American politics, but Republicans have been accusing Democrats of election fraud since before Trump was elected.  The irony of this thread is that the Republicans are the ones being investigated.

Election fraud is not a moot point... ever,... under any circumstances.  The whole point of election fraud is to rob voters of their power.  Fuck which party is doing it.  It violates the principles of democracy, and it's against the law in this country.

In this particular case, if this case is one of the Republican shenanigans being reported currently (sorry, I can't keep track of all of them), it would be wrong to say that the Republicans have already won this election.  They haven't.  This particular election hasn't been certified yet because of the irregularities.  Neither party has won the seat at this time.

This is not an either/or situation.  They are two separate issues, and there is no reason Democrats shouldn't work on both things.  In fact, there is every reason Democrats should do both, and Republicans should do the same.  Election fraud should be a bi-partisan issue, both parties should work together to wipe it out.

I don't have proof, but I speculate that  it exists on both sides, which side is more guilty, I have no idea, and no one else knows either, but accepting fraud as if it's done equally by both parties and doesn't matter because it all comes out as a wash, is the height of political laziness, and turns democracy into a farce.

First ballot, first voter fraud.  Usually vote caging ... discouraging eligible voters from voting.  Used to be a Democrat speciality down South.  Now that the Dems are all "woke" ... they merely want to vote cage White males and other deplorables.
