A cynical habit of thought and speech, a readiness to criticise work which the critic himself never tries to perform, an intellectual aloofness which will not accept contact with life’s realities â€" all these are marks, not as the possessor would fain to think, of superiority but of weakness. -TR

Many a martyr may well be very disappointed when they get to paradise and find out the truth:

Martyrs, Virgins and Grapes
I think they will be in Hell living with 72 mothers in law!
Evolution, the religion whereby one believes your children more human, and your parents more ape, than you!

The Human Mind, if it has nothing to do with Evolution...What an incredible entity...
If it does, what a waste!

Atheism, what a wonderful religion, where one believe to believe is erroneous.

Maybe you're right. But any God who would create an eternal hell isn't any God I'd care to praise or worship, even if it did exist.

I always find it funny when Christians ask, "Well, what if you're wrong?" I'd like to just turn that back around on them. "What if you're right?" What if God is really that much of an asshole? What if he really does require infinite praise, as he tortures countless people just outside the gates of Heaven? Do they really want to live an eternity worshiping such a monster?

Reminds me of a DarkMatter video from back in April...

Is it just this thing were by you don't want to acknowledge that islam is still as bad today as what Christianity was back in times gone by, or would that conflict with your liberal bias to accuse a group of people from the middle east of wrong doing?

I've always said both were moronic AND that Islam is JUST a few centuries behind Christianity in brutal fanaticism.  Both will probably calm down as the followers have nicer places to live and less hate, but Islamists are a bit behind.

I agree to an extent. Both Christians and Muslims resist change, and they have both been violent when they've had control of the government. Muslims seem to be more extreme on both, however. I think it will be quite a long time before radical Islam dies.

Modern day Moslems are in many ways similar to 14th century Christians.  Both rabid after a certain number of centuries, with an inherent violence due to internal and external conflicts and feeling threatened.  I sort of assume that Moslems will calm down in a few centuries and become less violent and expansive.

The question is "what follows them"?  Every downtrodden group creates a religions based on anger and powerlessness.

In your theism, you desire that there be The Poor.  Who else would have you?  But you positively desire that there be The Poor".  Who else would you suck on?  My view of religion is that you are are all parasites giving back to the poor whose teats you suckle on 10% and  keeping 90% "for God", LOL.  The term "suckers" has multiple meaning here.

Not my cup of tea.  I rather in fact despise the idea, leaving that horrible practice to you theists as somewhat habitual.  The odd thing is that you often accuse us atheist democratic (small d) types of the very things that theists have so often done thoughout history justifying it as "God's Will".

The applied effects of religion disgusts me.

If theism is pure evil, why haven't you converted to Satanism, Mr LaVey?  Thank G-d Gandhi and MLK were atheists.

If you claim this, you simply do not know the contents of the Quran that instructs world domination by terror and violence, and sex slavery.
You also do not know that the Bible on the contrary, does not allow the Christian to use violence to dominate the world, and condemns slavery totally.
To simply look on the surface and say Christians throughout the ages committed crimes against humanity, and Islam is soon to be a peaceful religion, is to display a twisted sense of reality.
To use a metaphor, The Sun burns less at night, and skin cancer might develop when the Moon shines.
This view is distorted, because the sun does not burn at night, but it does shine at the other side of the Earth. Skin cancer can develop at night due to previous damage caused by the sun.

Dont play such gaims.
Do not compare the sects with each other and make a claim about their religious books.

Rhetoric is what it is ... so if one person kills, all humans are murderers ... because the killing came from the nature of a human being, the nature that all humans share, and which atheists obsess.
