Follow him wherever he may go...

I'll let the song don its own poetry.

31 percent will do so.  And vote.  Scary stuff kids.

Hillary in 2020 ... or President Maduro of Venezuela?
Ha’át’íísh baa naniná?
Azee’ Å,a’ish nanídį́į́h?
Táadoo ánít’iní.
What are you doing?
Are you taking any medications?
Don't do that.

Cavebear

A lie, one at first.
Then two, to make it worse.
And then a few to confuse the people.

But then came a standard lie per day,
To chase all discussion away.
To get People used to hearing lies.

And when the people got used to hearing the lies,
Mere false statements seemed to be minor, and that was the purpose.
Of changing the subject day by day until most people couldn't be bothered

To figure out what was false and what was true.
I don't let his false statements fool me.
Do you let all his false statements fool you?

Good poetry/doggerel.  Perhaps the D party mascot should be some breed of dog, instead of a donkey?

Did you know that both party mascots were originally insults?  As was "Yankee Doodle Dandy".  The Elephant of the Republicans was originally representing stupidity and obstinance, and the Democratic mule was about the same.

Yankee Doodle Dandy is even funnier.  "Maccaroni" was a fashion in England among the neer do well rich where dandies wore outrageously-decorated hats and clothes. And the dandies rode prettified horses.

So the British joke about Americans was that they would stick a single feather in their caps and ride on a simple pony and think they were following the fashion...

Or so I recall from some article in Smithsonian magazine many years ago...

I could respond like Cavebear, but won't ;-)  Maybe the young folk here don't know that Americana.

Actually, had you posted that same statement, I would have agreed.

I believe you're right Cave.

Too lazy to confirm, but remember singing that song as a kid and it making no sense whatsoever.

I mean, when you're 12 years old, you question why yanks would stick a feather in their hat and call it "maccaroni".

The prez with an IQ of dork
One day used far too much torque
He poked out his eye
On the very first try
While feeding himself with a spork

You make Benjamin Franklin etc sad.  Unfortunately we have to mythologize our founders, with Longfellow.  Paul Revere wasn't the only rider, or even the best one.

Baruch why not just make a rhyme
You hang around here all the time
Just let it go
Come steal the show
Let loose with something so sublime

Her story is a lie too, just like all the other American history.

[Some] Americans are cute. They really know what they are talking about.
Critical thinking, not so much.

What about her story is a lie (I knowing nothing about her)...?

You have to read the ambiguous Wiki entry.  But she at least is a mythical heroine in parts of New York.  Our understanding of the American Revolution comes from Longfellow, not reality.
