I know about the Gulf stream and worldwide flow.  Looking forward to seeing a concise explanation.    ;)

Took me 15 seconds on Google to find this ...

Not to worry, Europeans are part Neanderthal.

Yes, I know about that, of course.  I know how desalination of the arctic waters are going to affect the stream, and I know it could end in the relatively near future to serious cooling in Europe.  Did you think I would not?  Evolution and human migration is an interest of mine.

And yes, Europeans are about 5% Neanderthal.  Are you familiar with the Denisovians?

The Denisovans are Menacans.

The only reference I find to Menacans is French, and I'm pretty sure they weren't in Eastern Central Asia.  Enlighten me...

I've heard that as the climate changes, the Gulf Stream could be decreased, which might well mean much colder weather for Europe. Let's hope that's not beginning already.

How Climate Change Could Jam The World’s Ocean Circulation

I talked with oceanographer one time, and he pointed out how warming changes the current patterns and how this is no small event.  Someplace I read that the last ice age followed a reversal of the Gulf Stream, which brought colder water and air to Europe.

There's this, among other similar articles:

Ocean Circulation Implicated in Past Abrupt Climate Changes

And there was at least one instance of a "snowball Earth" way back when. Our climate is a very fragile thing.

The ocean stream goes all around the continents.  As ice melts, fresh water flows onto it which changes the flow of the saltiest water.  Complicated, but if the ocean stream stops (as it has before a few times in the past), it ruins the heat exchange between the equator and polar areas.

Denis the Menace.  The Menicans live across the street from the Denisovans and George, the old guy.

Try harder.  A few facts please.  As annoying as they are, Dennis, Margarete, and George are not EXACTLY what I was asking about.
