Montana and Wyoming are in the top 22 with less than 5000 employees in each state.  You've got to love the underdogs.

Tell that to the military, the weather forecasters, the first responders, the scientists, and the people who clean up after all the demonstrations...  Etc, etc, etc...

Government takes from the GDP, it doesn't contribute.  Guns vs butter ... but only butter counts.  Unfortunately, you need guns to protect the butter.  Employee = private sector ... and finance doesn't count ... they simply rearrange the numbers on spreadsheets ... which is usually harmful.  Of course I am a contradiction ... private sector working for the public sector.  But ultimately I consider my self a de-priv government employee ... a merc rather than a soldier.

You really are limited in your concept of society sometimes!

Microsoft didn't build the roads between cities.  Facebook didn't build the internet.  Apple didn't create national banks that managed currency.  They use them for free.

General Motors doesn't maintain armies and the coast guard.  Boeing doesn't support our embassies overseas.  CitiBank doesn't keep weather satellites in orbit.

Some companies name sports stadiums; they don't pay for our police departments and the court system.

Get the point?

I am not an anarchist, I am pro-government.  Very pro-government.  However some people would like the whole economy to be public sector ... those people are socialists or worse.  That isn't what I mean by pro-government.  Some things are best done by the public sector.  The idea of privatizing thru contracting etc ... the public sector ... is nuts.  But then so was Lenin.
