Anyone connected with NYC or New Jersey real estate is a mobster.  But then so are most of the people in Congress.  Cohen clearly is a "consiglieri" aka Jewish mafia lawyer.  Think the Star Trek classic episode where they went to Planet Chicago ...

We are living this right now.

And this is in fact, the greatest live action "reality show" ... it is what the Don does ... capiche?
A friend from Chicago sent me an email yesterday noting that last weekend, Chicago had 72 shootings, and 12 left dead ranging in age from 11 to 66.  Having said that, A Piece of the Action might be my all time favorite episode of the original Star Trek.

Gangsterism went down hill, when they got rid of the 1928 Packard touring car, and the Thompson sub-machinegun.  You have to know what kind of alien planet you are on, and learn to fit into native culture.  Illinois, to my knowledge, is still a pretty corrupt place at all levels of government.  A long history of bribes and official abuse/neglect.  Lincoln was the last honest man elected from there ;-(

And remember, in the 19th century, Americans E of the Mississippi admired the Wild Wild West.

When I was a kid, Abraham Lincoln, Davy Crocket, and the Civil War seemed like the olden days, but I was born 43 years after the 19th Century.  Didn't miss it by much.  Now at my age, the taming of the west on horseback that began before the invention of the repeating rifle doesn't strike me as that long ago.  What does impress me is how far we came with science and technology since the Gettysburg Address.  It makes you wonder just how much mankind had been fucking around for the first 100,000 years.  First some guy learned how to chip flint.  Thousands of years go by and then another guy invents the wheel.  Thousands more go by and someone comes up with the shovel.  And all of a sudden everything started happening at once and we are flying through space and blowing each other up with atomic bombs.  Great advancements in science, but none in politics.  We are still being governed by complete idiots.

Religion is supposed to bring wisdom to mankind, but after all this time we still have very little of it. Science has done more to improve our condition in the last 300 years than religion did in the last 30,000 years. Our science has far outstripped our wisdom because there's none at all coming to us from religion. It's time we gave up the idea that religion can give us anything other than false hope, and start to think in terms of our place in the reality of a dangerous cosmos.

But we won't do that, we'd rather just keep bombing each other back to the stone age.

Greater technical ability at being a-moral.  More efficient raping, pillaging and murder.  Just ask Aleppo Syria.

Yeah, in the 1960s, the 1940s weren't that long ago, just the same as the 1990s are now.

Yes, iPhone made in China by wage slaves ... Enlightenment in action.

The Trump administration is like sharks in a feeding frenzy, or a bunch of hens at a pecking party. We don't need to have "shark week" any more, it's going to be a permanent part of the U.S. government, apparently.

Religion has never brought wisdom to humankind.  Rather, it is that humankind has learned what works and does not work to keep human societies functioning.  All that religion has ever done is steal the hard-won experience of humankind and write about it while adding some nonsense guys in the sky to explain what we had already learned.  And some idiotic religious rules about a special day of the week dedicated to giving money to them.

And Druids already knew that the world was round.  Are you a Druid?
