That is true of any investigation ... you aren't supposed to do a trial by public opinion.  And suspects are supposed to cooperate with prosecution?  Really?  But yes, it would be so smart to continue to communicate with someone indicted or likely to be ... so your communications can be added to the pile of evidence ... not!

So far, what seems to be the case, is that Flynn is guilty of influence peddling with the Turkish government, over Gulen.  But if it is a CIA op, then no matter what he did, it is still legal.  Same as the CIA assassination of JFK.  They may have a show trial, but find him innocent on a technicality.  Of just not indict him.  But none of that has anything to do with Russia.  If Flynn was working for the CIA and they choose to sacrifice him, that would be a bad mistake on their part.  If Flynn wasn't working for the CIA, then he is going to jail, but probably of the country club type.  On the other hand, it might be a double cross, that Flynn was trying to get Erdogan to show his cards ... so that something can be done about Erdogan (similar to a cop posing as a drug user to bring down a drug dealer).  Gulen seems to be a billionaire crime lord, who works for the US (as does Soros).  He will probably die in US exile, but in his sleep.

The Deep State is not of one mind, but a coalition of competing interests.  Pro and anti-military coup, pro and anti-Gulen, pro and anti-Erdogan.  America is a cheap whore, for sale to everyone.  Turkey has been manipulated into genocidal paranoia before, in 1915.  Internal dissidents were blamed for Turkish military failures ... Armenians and Kurds and Greeks ... genocide was the result.

Trump would need to actually break a law in order to be impeached. Unfortunately, not helping PR enough is not a criminal act nor is not being aware that PR inhabitants are U.S. citizens.

I am similarly not convinced that Trump had direct knowledge of any collusion with Russia because there's no reason for him to. He has people who would handle that sort of thing in his campaign and, indeed, what we are seeing is the people in his campaign getting nabbed by investigations but not a single thing solidly tying him to the collusion. An even moderately competent scheme would have him totally insulated from the wrongdoing.

The best we can hope from this investigation is that Trump is politically gutted by having a ton of highly placed people in his campaign thrown in jail for collusion. On the other hand, the rules of sanity don't really apply to Trump. He makes baseless assertions, and then when he is confronted with facts that prove his assertion wrong, he just makes up more assertions to discredit those facts. This got him into the White House so he would use it here.

I'm sure no matter how strong the evidence is he will just label it a liberal smear campaign and at least 30% of voters will believe him.
