QuoteBasically, they'd have to argue that all other western countries are socialist hellholes and seriously get people to believe it in order to make that sort of attack work.

Americans already believe that anyways.

I heard that in Canada, there are 20-year lines to get a tooth pulled, criminals in Norway get their own anime pillows and hot chocolate, and that the EU is the new Wehrmacht - but there were good people on both sides, so that makes them at least partially good?  Being a conservative is so confusing!

I think it's simpler than that for Dems to win the presidency: win back the rust-belt states - they lost 5 out 6 in 2016. Up to now, Biden seems to be the best candidate who could pull that if he can resist falling on his face- he is too prone to make silly blunders but next to Trump, there are mindless.

Send more jobs to China, support Emperor Xi ... that isn't how you win votes outside of the Hollywood Illuminati.  Of course the Republicans are equally guilty.  But the people aren't ready to blame both parties, not ready to dump both to be Independent.

Oh, and denigrate guns and Bibles.  Dems know how to win one-party states vote were there is only one person running.  No wonder they love China and the EU.

Don't promote utopias what can never match marketing.  The customer will end up disappointed.  Politics is the art of lying, and getting your opponent to take "all" the blame.

It would be ok if he attacked their policies - fair game for politicians - it's another thing when he attacks their nativity, citizenship or the color of their skins. Because this is red meat for his supporters who still worship the ground he walks on he gets away with it. This disgusting show from the White House will continue and probably will get worst until the majority is so fed up they get to vote him out.

MY PREDICTION: the worst one and half years to go. Trump madness will increase exponentially.

Actually, Rep Green may finally force the House to vote for impeachment.  Sounds like he should be the Dem nominee.  As I have said before, impeachment isn't a criminal or civil law case.  It is a third case, that can be filed ... for anything.

I hate to say it, but I have my doubts I will vote for Biden if he is the nominee. If the choice is between a loose-cannon like Trump or a puppet like Biden... either way I have to walk away with my hands dirty :\.

Hopefully my transfer request will have gone through before that time comes though, and I will no longer be an American citizen that has to worry about that. I guess working for an international corporation isn't all bad...

Finally going overseas?  A young man, with the potential for a great adventure.  I hope you can.  Yes, you will have to work for a living.  Just don't join the jihadis.  You are a prime example of Trump's recent tweet, in the positive sense.

Canada's problem is underinvestment in medical sector, and baby boomer population bulge.

What, so you think you are a conservative?  Has your doctor prescribed anything?

Canada for now, with the hope of getting citizenship and then using that to hit the UK. From there, depending on what remains of their Euro-status, either Karlsruher, Strasbourg, Switzerland or Spain/Ireland as a back-up.

But my ideal location in Canada is the Winnipeg area, which strikes me as a bit... isolated... from the rest of the world, which is what I want anyways, so maybe just stick around there... and have the option to move north if the world keeps on getting warmer.

I know no where is perfect, but they are objectively better which is good enough for me anyways.

Portugal didn't work out?  So, Winnepeg ... with global warming, watch out for the angry overheated polar bears ;-)

Lisboa has become a major tourist hub, so prices are starting to rise a little too much. Coimbra might still be okay though, and it's a bit more inland... but it get's very hot there. I'm tired of living where the humidity is normally like 65% or more and the temperatures in the summer average 97+.

Manitoba seems to have alot of lakes, rivers, fertile land and is affordable. If we had stores in Calgary that would be even better.

The bar is so low but people will not get up their asses and do something about it. The president, Mitch and many others need to be sacked.

Pretty much.  On the plus side, while this kind of asshattery makes his red-meat base cum all over themselves, it turns off the huge middle swath of voters, who will either stay home, or vote for the Democrat.  Either way that spells disaster in the Electoral college -- only about 50,000 votes swung this election, after all.  There were four states won by less than 1% -- three of those (Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin for 46EV) went to Lord Dampnut, and they're going to be damned hard to nail back down without an unpopular opponent like he had in '16.  Certainly none of the current front-runners have as many negatives as Hillary did.

"Certainly none of the current front-runners have as many negatives as Hillary did." ... absolutely correct.  There is something basically gauche about President Trump.  Little old ladies who have tea at 4pm will clutch their pearls.  But my mother (90 at the time) was overjoyed ... she liked rich famous people.

The other problem for Dems is Biden is maybe too old (Hillary's health was not good).  But he might be able to pull it off.  I wouldn't expect a second term from Biden.

And the Establishment loves close elections, precisely because they are cheaper and easier to swing one way or the other.  It is legal to bet on a lot of things in GB.  So I suspect a lot of money was made swinging the election in 2000 and 2004, and maybe a lot of money lost with the failure to swing the election in 2008 and 2012.  Counting the votes is important, but it is more important who counts the votes (see 2000).

But one of the reasons why Hillary lost, is that the African-Americans love to vote for African-Americans, but she isn't one.  So y'all better nominate Kamala Harris.  Identity politics is a dragon eating its own tail ... leading to ever narrower appeal.
