For you bloodthirsty savages ... and anarchists ... only immediate nuclear immolation of Russia, would prove that the government isn't a tool of Russian svengalis.

Shame you didn't think of that when the Obama administration was shelling out our uranium to Putin, eh?

Is that before or after you send all the Republicans to Andersonville?

And no, Trump doesn't know much, Pence knows everything.  Ds keep swinging at the Donald piñata hoping candy will fall out ;-)

And as I have claimed, MSM isn't liberal or conservative, it is Establishment, it is CIA.  If I wanted to go down that kind of stuff, I would find a secret agent and suck his ...

The same could be said of running a casino where assholes give you their money willingly.  The Fuckhead-In-Chief couldn't even make a profit doing that.

When the Casino Rules say you are guaranteed a profit in the long run, and you can't make money doing THAT, yeah, ya gotta be pretty incompetent.

So, aside from Trump's general political and history blankness, his inability to make a profit in a Sure Thing is "businessly" damning.  LOL!

As far as any evidence suggests (some now and more to come later as the House gets his tax returns - and they will), Trump basically loses at every venture he tries even when he fails to pay his contractors.

Had his Dad given ME the money and bail-outs he gave The Donald, I WOULD actually be a multi-billionaire by now, unlike him.

True about his business acumen.  But then we don't elect people for their business acumen, otherwise what is Hillary's qualification?  A lot of major US businesses, bigger than the Trump enterprise, are creative accounting, with or without government backing.  Speaking of which, what is the Federal Reserve .. that isn't Federal and has no reserve?

He'd've probably done better just to sink it all into CDs and T-bills.  But then, like Dubya before him, he was "born on third and thinks he hit a triple".  But basically yeah, if you can't make money off a casino, you're a complete and total business idiot.  It's one of the few businesses that's mathematically all but guaranteed to be profitable, and he declared bankruptcy six times for his casinos.

Probably true, because back then you could get good rates on ordinary things.  And held for decades, the money accumulates.  The hardest way to make money is to change in and out all the time, paying the stock broker each time for the privilege.  That "churn" when promoted by the stock broker, used to be illegal.  Now it is the basis of the pseudo-market.

Yeah, I started Sept 1986 with a full $86,000 mortgage on the house, an old Chevette Scooter car, and barely a dime in my checking/savings account.  I mean I was not only broke, I owed my parents $6,000 to cover the down payment on the house.  And THEY insisted on market rate interest because they had had to take it out of their investments.

So I just stopped spending money.  Joined a carpool, made every lunch to eat at work, went nowhere on vacation, and saved every dime.  Yeah, I wasn't working at Walmart, but I had co-workers in the office who were spending every dime they earned and were living paycheck to paycheck at the same salary (and it was Federal Govt, so it wasn't large).

In 2 years, I repaid my parents and bought a new car (Ford Taurus wagon) on a 5 year loan.  Paid it off in 2 years.  Refinanced my mortgage 2x (from about 10% to 8% to 6%) and from 30 years to 20 yeara to 10 years.

Paid that off in 10 years.  No mortgage!  After that, everything went into Vanguard stock indexes (spread into a 9 grid - High Cap, Mid Cap and Small Cap by Value, Growth, and Blended).  I wish I had bailed in 2008, but that's "timing the market" and not usually a good idea.  I recovered and also moved every dime I had in the index Funds in 2010.  Had a good ride up.

Settled in for the long term, but then Trump came along.  I decided (correctly, it seems) that he was going to wreck the economy and bailed out in early 2018, transferring Vanguard funds to Money Markets and Treasury Bonds.  While the Dow fell from 26,000 to 23,000 I was earning 3%.

And my credit union offerred a 3.65% 24 month CD, so I threw $20,000 (their max) into one from my .01% checking account.  And they are also offerring 3.05% for a new 24 month CD (max $50,000).  That has to be "new money", so I have to take it out of my savings account there (at 0.5%), move it to my commercial bank, then transfer it back (it is then considered "new money" since it comes from another bank to earn 3.05% on the same money that was getting .05%).

It's just like playing a game, but then you have more money around afterwards.  The annoying thing is that I have to close my bank access accounts so no one can try to hack it.  I should look at see if there is insurance for that.  Closing and opening accounts can be a real pain sometimes.

But the reward is that I'm worth $1.2 million today instead of eating at fancy places the past 25 years (and never really wanted to).  I'm not selling anything, I won't even discuss it much (I'll answer questions).  Just buy Index funds when you are middle-aged and hold.

So, I'm renovating the home and yard, LOL!  I expect to live here all the rest of my years. I'm seriously thinking of new furniture.  The cats have clawed up my 25 year old easy chair, so that could be replaced.  Time to change the carpet in the computer room. too.  Linoleum would mean I don't have to keep the computer chair on the dumb plastic pad.

Time to stop living like a college dorm guy, wouldn't you say?

Well, since you can't take it with you when you check out of this mad house that is life, you might as well get some use out of it in the mean time!

QuoteDonald Trump has never been a fan of following the rule of law, but his latest idea may be the one that finally pushes the most ardent of Trump supporters over the line. The President is mulling the possibility of declaring a national state of emergency along our southern border so that he can use eminent domain to seize private property that is needed to start construction of his border wall. Isn’t this the kind of thing that conservatives were saying Democrats wanted to do â€" Come and confiscate their personal property?

Why am I not surprised that Trump would do this?

I am hoping for martial law (not marshall, that is just a small part of the police force).  We needed this in 1965.  People aren't going to go willingly into the FEMA camps, are they?

Will he use this as his Reichstag's fire?  Once he declares a national emergency, is martial law not soon to follow?  Then the oyster is his for the plucking.

Well, I've said that the more desperate he becomes about the Mueller investigation the more dangerous he'll be, so nothing would surprise me.
