Shame. He seems like a cool guy when he is sane or sober. Some people can just never get their life together.

Hopefully he goes the route of Robert Downey Jr and realises he is on a crash course.

meh.
It is kind of meh, in an "It's his life" kind of way.  Losers are a dime a dozen, and the world is not harmed in a significant way when someone decides to piss his life away.  But I hate to see someone go out of his way to humiliate himself like that.

He hasn't seemed to realize it yet, and this is hardly a first for him.

It's illegal to ask someone for a cigarette?

Why didn't Amanda Bynes do porn?

Also Robert Downey Jr is awesome.

This is what happens when you O.D. on identity politics. The far left have become disgusting monsters. A caricature of what they despise. And it's a shame because not only are they now what they despise, they effectively caused the right to generate their own version of the same thing, in recoil.

I've personally snapped in terms of this ridiculousness. The Trump administration and the temper tantrums on either side of the political spectrum.... Not in the sense that I've become a raging buffoon like LeBeouf, in the sense that I just don't care anymore. I don't care that Trump is the president, the only thing that concerns me about this administration is that I don't know if I'm going to have proper medical coverage under medicaid.... which I don't even know if I will need in the near future.

I hate to say this over and over again, but the extreme left created this mess. There has been more irrationality on the left than the right. And this is coming from me, someone on the left. It's so stupid. There isn't enough time in the day to deal with all the stupidity on both ends. And then if you do, you risk getting consumed completely, like Shia did and so many others. Speaking of which, I don't want to name any names, but one member on here, who hasn't been active for a while on the site, but was friends with me on facebook, went completely off the deep end. The liberal extreme deep end. Unfriended me and blocked me because I pointed out the obvious hate mongering in a video he shared. He deleted my comment, and then when I asked him why via private message, he deleted me.  Go figure.  Just goes to show you how irrational everyone has become.

Anyway. I know I went on a complete tangent, but it's semi-related, I'm tired and about to go to sleep.

Dude... what?

That's like saying Mel Gibson O.D.ed on right-wingism or Nazism with his anti-semitic remarks while drunk af. You know I cant stand the right-wing, but not even I am like, "Well, this is just more right-wing bullshit!". The guy was just insane + drunk af. To try to paint this as some left-vs-right issue is the exact definition of doing exactly what you are complaining about, making this identity politics.

Shia has been off the deep end long before identity politics was a part of our jargon, and long before he probably even knew what left or right was.

Again... what? It's like saying chicken vs egg, but right-wing nutjobs have had dominance in the media and government for decades. If anything, it's the exact opposite of what you said.

I think you do need to get some sleep lol.

Here's the thing... even republicans are jumping ship because of the racism and bigotry of the party. That isn't identity politics, that's truth. When your own side thinks your racist, I think it's deeper than just, "The other guy hates me!".

If that standard is applied to both sides, than no, he "aint with us". And I don't think Mel Gibson is representative of right-wingers even though he said some really racist, fucked up shit. I think he is drunk and insane, just like LeBeouf.

That wasn't why he was arrested.  From a different article:
Quote
Shia LaBeouf was arrested overnight for public drunkenness, obstruction, and disorderly conduct.
His humiliation and loss of self control is self inflicted (see video).

Shia mentions identity to the black cop in his remark, "I'm on your side," but this is irrelevant to the problem and just something he thoughtlessly blurted out in a drunken jabber.  Shia may or may not have other mental issues as well.  I don't know.

Aside from being of interest as the object of celebrity gossip, he's in a bad place and well on his way to ruining his life.  I'm fairly confident that he needs to either control his drinking, or stop it altogether.  That part he can control.  If other issues are involved like a chemical imbalance, he may be able to control that through medications.

From what I've read about his history, alcohol abuse seems to come up in everything he's gotten himself into.  It might be that simple of an issue.  Either way, it pains me to see people do this to themselves.  I don't care if they are famous, political, insane, or just part of the nameless rabble.
