1)  Steely Dan
2)  Pink Floyd
3)  Eagles
4)  Doobie Bros
5)  ZZ Top(probably)
I'm sure we all have our preferences. I really like Ron Bushy, especially his drum solo in Inna Godda Da Vida. I was a wanna-be drummer who never got the chance to actually drum. I do tap my fingers a lot, and people just think I'm nervous. But I'm about as nervous as The Dude.

In the early 70's I was a stage hand at a casino at Lake Tahoe. There was a band on the main show who had a drummer who was the first drummer I ever heard who made music on the drums, I mean they sang not just kept the tempo. Can't for the life of me remember his name and the band was put together for the show. BTW the show was called Love In. Well, I could go on about the show for hours but not here.

Lots of Chicago music.

Any way
Thanks.  There are guys like that, yes, they are true musicians.  I heard a very musical jazz drummer with Hank Jones(piano) at a festival one time.  You dont forget those guys.  Steve Gadd is like that, thats why he got hired by everybody.  Chicago is a great town for music.

^^^This!!  Forgot the guy's name, but I love the Iron Butterfly--and this song is an all time great!!!

I belong to a couple of baseball simulation leagues in which we can have whoever we want (well, whoever we draft) and use their best season (our choice)--need to do a bunch of baseball stat research and do it on excel.  And to the tunes of Butterfly usually.  Do my best work when driven by Inna Godda Da Vida!

II had a 70+ year old student a few years back on this Brasilian instrument I play called the "pandeiro"  I got him going from zero to playing pretty damn well in about a year.  He WANTED it--and thats the main thing.

Marco Suzano, pandeiro

Yeah, I like Edgar Winter's Frankenstein, as well. It's really the bee's knees!
