Politically speaking I always liked Weiner.

Yeah, but that scandal really put a lot of cold water on his career.  In this race, I don't think he's going to measure up.  There'll probably be mounting pressure for him to pull out.

It's funnier when a Republican gets nailed because they pretend to be the moral guardians of the state.  When a Democrat gets nailed, it's not funny, unless they have a name like "Weiner".  But shit, both political stripes ought to know better than to distribute pictures of themselves naked.  Porn stars have enough sense to avoid going into politics.  Politicians should reciprocate and stay out of the porn industry. :-D

Basically this. Weiner stood up to the GOP but he never pretended to be a moral saint. Sanford however did exactly that, which was what made his scandal (and most GOP scandals) as awesome as they were.
