I'm happy to post an original thought by addressing why I post articles, videos and other things that I find interesting. I post articles because I enjoy sharing ideas with the group and many of the best ideas out there are not my own. Many of the best ideas other forum members discuss are not their own but that makes no difference to me. It is all about the idea, not who posted it. Sometimes I post things I don’t even agree with because it is nevertheless interesting. Nothing is really personal because I don't know any of you.

I like reading what people choose to share but I don’t like arguing or debating. There are many people online who love to debate ideas but I am not one of them; I just don't enjoy it. I think to be passionate about debate one must be interested in winning, in convincing the other person to change their mind, and I don't have any interest in do that, especially with anonymous strangers.

A good example of the way I approach forums is the thread “Theist: Why do you think God does not exist what are your reasons?” where the OP makes a first cause argument. I wasn’t really interested in first cause but I did want to know how a Christian makes the leap from “something created the universe” to Jesus Christ is Lord. So I posted the question. I wasn’t trying to be challenging, I sincerely wanted to know the thought process. The OP responded with information from Google search explaining the reasoning. That was perfect! That was what I wanted to know. I have no interest in changing his mind, arguing that he is wrong or pursuing the topic further.

Chill98 you and I seem to come to the forum for different reasons. You clearly enjoy debate and convincing people you are in the right. I’m just sharing information and if people like it great, if not they can ignore it or post why they disagree hopefully with a link to a great article.
