I agree, but Pax Americana is unpopular now.  I am glad it existed when it did, even if we carried it out stupidly ... the Soviets and Chinese were even more stupid.  Personally, I think we should have ended Pax Americana around 2000, voluntarily.  But that we have to be defined by our enemies ... still holds on, so we created some more enemies.
