Title: Hello
Post by: A.Christopher221B on March 23, 2013, 07:58:57 PM
Hello everyone. The only reason I came here is to TRY and prove my point of view on why I am a Christian. Only by logic and not by what most Christians go by. I am a person of faith. But that is not enough for persuasion.
Cold hard facts and lack of emotion is what I love. Please prove me wrong. That is my one request.

The odds are likely that you were born in a christian community or neighborhood in a christian nation. Were you born in Iran you would likely be Muslim. Born in Israel, likely Jewish. Born in New England, Catholic or Protestant. Born in Utah, Mormon. Otherwise you encountered someone, a missionary or person, who influenced you to become a Christian. No one is born religious. It is learned or taught.

Its easier to fool someone than it is to convince them they have been fooled..
We will not waste much time trying to convince you you have been fooled by religion.. At least I wont..

I am sorry, but if you have read the babble and come here saying you have any sense of "logic" you sir, have already proven yourself to be an idiot. No disrespect meant personally but goodness have you actually read the babble? Are you telling that you, in the year 2013 believe the sky can be rolled up like a scroll? Or that within the bowels of earth is a dragon that can capture a third of the stars and fling them to earth? Or that......really....women need to sit outside town in a tent when on their period? Or perhaps for all of your gods powers he was beaten by them dastardly humans who had chariots made of iron? Good grief son, you really stepped in a steaming heap.

Hmm. At this point, Christopher is:

A. Having second thoughts about posting here

B. Loading up the blunderbusses for a broadside

C. Prayerfully considering between a and b

QuotePlease prove me wrong.

That's not how it works. In order to believe something, you must prove it right. Or you must accept that you're believing something irrational. We don't have to prove your god isn't real any more than we have to prove that the Loch Ness monster isn't real. If you want to believe in the existance of something, either show it to be real or admit that it's irrational but you're believing it anyway.

Of course, we can give you loads of reasoning on why your beliefs are silly, but we're in no way obligated to prove anything; that burden lies with the claimant.

If you want cold hard facts, you're  not going to find any in the Bible.

Why rainbows?

Incidentally, I also love a lack of emotion. I just love to turn it over and fuck it sideways whilst whispering equations into its ear.

Yes, I love a lack of emotion.

A lack of emotions is required in order to tell your family to fuck off if they don't display the same level of authentic love for jebus christo.

Fine. Show us your cold, hard facts and your logic for being Christian.

Oh, and welcome... for now.
