Title: "God hates fat people" Facebook page

You think this is real or satire? I'm calling satire, but sometimes you really can't be to sure.

If it's real though at least it's a refreshing change from the overweight fundies conveniently ignoring what Paul said about gluttony.

Hate of any kind, evil it is.  There are a lot of people either ashamed of being overweight, or who despise those who are.  I once went to a church as a visitor, and in the pre-worship get together, all they could talk about was how much they hated fat people.

There are seven deadly sins, one of which is gluttony.  But it means more than just eating, it includes having more than one Rolls Royce (can't drive just one).  The deadly sins and the seven cardinal virtues aren't one for one, they cross each other like a checkerboard.  And no, they aren't in the Bible either.  But the primary deadly sin is pride (meaning arrogance).

The only thing that surprises me is that there weren't any fat people in the congregation.

I typically see a higher concentration of fatties in evangelical churches than I do in McDonald's drivethrus.

American diet is poisoned by GMO ... and corporate food processing.  If you ate all natural, and only what you can grow or catch, you wouldn't be fat ... you would have the other problem.  But then that would be eco-kosher.  It is in the financial interest of capitalism (private or public) to exterminate its own population ... the fewer people, the more stuff left for the survivors.  Kind of like Highlander, for bankers.

Yeah, but that's the OT stuff.  Jesus abolished all that in the NT.

"And seeing the multitudes, the Christ went up unto a nearby pallet and and he opened his mouth, and Christ said unto them, 'I say unto you, blessed are the fatties, for they shall inherit the moobs and the triple chins and fatceps and pudgy ankles and hands.  America (and Mexico) shall be their country, and their homeland shall be as large as their appetites.  The skinnies shall persecute you, but rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven; endless buffets and chocolate fountains and diet soda.  Amen.'"

Any historical Jesus, was Jewish, not Gentile ... never abolished any jot or tittel of the Law (read it yourself).  Christianity in later Roman times, and today, has no more than a fantasy relationship to any historical Jesus.  It doesn't even bear any resemblance to the mythical Jesus followed by Paul (who did abolish all laws).

Your American Jesus bears a passing resemblance to Mormonism ;-)

If we followed the letter of biblical law, pastors would be shaking bibles in the faces of tattooed motorcycle gangs and condemning them for their tats and piercings. For some reason we don't see that..... all that Levitical law shit. Lol, if you start condemning fat people you will be kicking out 3/4ths of the congregation in the Bible Belt. This Sunday in Mississippi a pastor will be shaking the hand of an obese tattooed man with a round haircut and wearing polyester, who is more than welcome in his church because he puts money on the plate every Sunday.

Gay people are a minority that don't as a rule pack weaponry and threaten to cut off body parts; intelligent, thoughtful people that contribute to society. In other words, a viable target because they aren't threatening to blow shit up like the prolifers and others are.

If 50% of the population suddenly became "gay" the fundie churches would start forgetting those anti-gay verses real quick as soon as the collection plates started to run dry.
