Why do so many preachers go like this .... "JEEEEEEEEEEZZZZZUSSSSS"... when referring to their deity?
I don't know why some preachers have an affectation.

It's to prove to you that they deserve your kids' college fund.
The way they talk signifies they are the real McCoy. It's not just like a Southern accent. It's an accent all of it's own. I call it a Pentecostal accent. Southern accents are not so prevalent anymore as the country has become more mobile, but auto mechanics in Southern towns have cultivated a dialect of their own. I call it a Nascar accent. Southern grocery clerks and shoe salesmen don't use the Nascar accent. Sometimes it's clearly southern, but that's becoming less of the norm.

Is it just me or does he sound like George W. Bush speaking?
I've always pronounced it aa Jah-Eeeeeeeeeezus! Strong emphasis on the EEEEEEEEEEEEZZZZZ.
Growing up in a black southern Methodist church I know exactly what you're talking about.

I can't believe people in that guy's congregation don't get at least a little bit bored with his redundant cadence.
