Title: The Inexplicable Universe:Unsolved Mysteries
Post by: Berati on April 19, 2014, 11:26:54 AM
I just found that this series by Neil deGrasse Tyson is now available on Netflix. http://www.amazon.com/The-Inexplicable-Universe-Unsolved-Mysteries/dp/1598038516 (http://www.amazon.com/The-Inexplicable-Universe-Unsolved-Mysteries/dp/1598038516)

Any one seen it?
I've really got to hand it to to Professor deGrasse Tyson. Much of this series is presented as straight lecture with some graphics added in. Tysons ability to communicate knowledge  just through speech is pretty amazing and his enthusiasm is infectious. Wish I had a science teacher like this back when I was in school.

The materials covered are also extremely interesting and thought provoking. More than any other science series I've seen, he explains how science moves from the unknown, to the known, which leads to more unknown.. i.e. the "Unsolved Mysteries" from the title.

The lectures are geared to the public and like Carl Sagan before him, this is where deGrasse Tyson shines.
