Title: A step in the direction of the HYPERLOOP
Post by: josephpalazzo on September 27, 2013, 09:20:03 AM
QuoteThe Hyperloop may not be such a long shot after all. Thanks to a community of enthusiasts who have gathered around the concept on the entrepreneurial collaboration platform JumpStartFund, Elon Musk's theorized high-speed tube transport system will soon have its own corporation behind it.

"We want to be the ones that actually make things happen," Dirk Ahlborn, CEO and co-founder of JumpStartFund, said in an interview Wednesday. "So of course we need to create a corporation. Whoever decides to dedicate more time to this than just logging onto the platform deserves to be part of this company."

I don't know if I could ever get in one of those. Firstly I have a mild claustrophobia, second I have a real problem with being able to escape in case of fire...I don't mind dropping out of the sky at 300 mph but burning up in a tube gets me  the heeby jeebies.

No sweat. They'll give you virtual reality goggles, and pipe in porn just for you.  :P

I like the idea they are considering alternate proposals. My take on Elon Musk is that he is pretty self-involved and not big on outside influences. Maybe I'm wrong.

That was the first thing that came to my mind also. I think I'd be OK moving, but if it stopped I'm not sure---and a fire forgetaboutit!  8-[  Solitary
